Package Costs

We offer two right-of-use licence pricing models i.e. Monthly or Annual:

  • Thereafter, ZAR 13 000 per Workstation. Licence numbers 2 - 20 can be acquired individually @ ZAR 16 000.

  • The right of use licence is valid for a period of one year from date of installation and is automatically renewable per the Extended Licence and Warranty paragraph below.

Hosted Services

We offer a secure and fully managed hosted service.

  • A fixed monthly hosting fee of R300 per user.
  • An initial and once-off setup fee of R150 per user.
  • Daily backups and disaster recovery services cost R250 per month per database.

Installation, Training & Support

  • A broad guideline for estimating required hours for new clients during the first year of operation - is 40 to 75 hours per site plus between 5 and 10 hours for each user.
  • The cost is on a time, travel and accommodation basis at an average rate of ZAR 750 per hour.

  • Travel costs for on-site visits from our Johannesburg or Cape Town offices are recovered at a current cost of ZAR 7.50/km. Actual travel and accommodation costs incurred, and subsistence/meals at ZAR 300 per day, are recovered for on-site visits outside of these areas.
  • We will appoint a Support Consultant to be responsible for the implementation and ongoing support. All communication will be via a single client-appointed Administrator/Super User. In larger organisations, we prefer to train the trainer. Urgent support should be emailed to a specified address which will be responded to within 2 hours. MDA Support Consultants aim for a response turnaround of no more than 24 hours.
  • We charge at our prevailing rates for installation (including upgrades), training or any support that falls outside of that covered by the warranty since the time taken is dependent on variables out of our control i.e. your equipment, your database size, your levels of expertise etc.

Monthly Pricing

The monthly cost covers:

  • A right of use licence for a period of one month from date of installation
  • A warranty that the software will perform substantially in accordance with the product manuals, brochures and what we have in good faith led you to believe.

Both the right of use licence and the warranty will be automatically extended on a monthly basis and the cost will escalate at the higher 10% and the prevailing Consumer Price Index (CPI) on the anniversary of the initial activation date.

We retain the right to charge for all support, on-site or remote, other than where such support is of a package non-performance nature.

Annual Pricing

The initial cost covers:

  • A right of use licence for a period of one year from date of installation
  • A one-year warranty that the software will perform substantially in accordance with the product manuals, brochures and what we have in good faith led you to believe.

Both the right of use licence and the warranty will be automatically extended for a further period of one year on payment of an annual licence fee. The licence fee is payable on the anniversary date of initial installation of any of the MDA Property Systems and is calculated as 22% of the initial pre-discounted cost of all MDA Property Systems, with the initial cost value being escalated at the higher of 10% and the prevailing Consumer Price Index (CPI).

We retain the right to charge for all support, on-site or remote, other than where such support is of a package non-performance nature.

Upgrades

We are committed to an ongoing research and development programme whereby the packages are enhanced with innovations from a growing user-base and upgraded to current technological levels.

Package upgrades will be made available for download from our website. Your Administrator/Super User will be automatically notified via a web service of new features, critical patches etc. each time he/she logs into MDA Property Manager©.

Whereas the upgrades will be made available at no cost, we reserve the right to charge for new components or products.

Bulk Communications Costs

All reports can be individually emailed in Adobe pdf format. Certain reports like Rent/Levy Statements, Cash Flow Statements, Rent/Levy Rolls and Budget Variance reports can be emailed in bulk. For Rent/Levy Statements only, the current charge is ZAR 1 per statement. This represents a cost saving of ZAR 5+ per statement on printing, folding, enveloping and stamping.

Other bulk communications can be generated to customizable SMS/Text Message, Email or Print templates. Examples include arrears notices, meeting reminders, audited turnover certificate reminders etc. Whereas there is no charge for the use of the bulk communications functionality, we do charge for a portion of the auto-recovery from tenants/debtors, if any. The charge is 25% of the recovery, limited to ZAR 1. (In South Africa, the Debt Collectors Act allows a charge of ZAR 15 per arrears notice.)

Exclusions

Please note that all prices quoted exclude Vat, other withholding taxes that may be imposed, MS SQL Server (but it does include SQL Express) and Operating System Software.

All prices are all subject to confirmation before contractual commitment.
