Implementation

We take full responsibility for installing the MDA products on the client's network.

Printer access, security and user access controls are put in place.

Once the technical aspects are complete, a training and implementation plan is jointly devised.

The optimum method for data capture or programmatic conversion is investigated.

An exceptional level of support is offered to make your transfer to MDA easy and cost-effective.

Training

The first phase of the training is the definition of company-specific parameters such as stationery formats, chart of accounts, controlling offices, cash books, etc.

Our training is usually done on-site with specific emphasis on the client's particular requirements.

Our preferred training approach is that of incremental knowledge transfer whereby we do not rush out all our knowledge in crash courses, but rather guide our clients from technical installation through going live and beyond.

Consultancy & Support

In practise, hardware and operating system software problems often manifest themselves as application software problems. Our attitude is simple, if a client has a problem we regard it as ours.

We are well experienced and have a solid track record in supporting an international client base. If the installation and initial training are done properly, most problems can be resolved telephonically, by fax or by e-mail. Critical problem resolution is accomplished by direct dial-in to clients.

Our consultants are typically versatile university graduates with property and IT skills. A dedicated account manager is appointed to optimise the relationship. They call on other technical expertise where necessary.

Systems Development

The MDA packages benefit from an enormous commitment to continuous R&D investment at both a detailed and strategic level.

The key to a successful package is continuous, but controlled improvement. Listening to, learning from each other and careful encapsulation of knowledge and best practises into the package can achieve this.

We are always willing to perform modifications as long as these generally add value to the property industry and that they can be incorporated into the products without introducing major stability risk.

Our approach is to understand the business problem, investigate alternative solutions, clearly document the agreed modifications and then to make the program changes. Installation and testing of the modifications is done on our live system in Cape Town before releasing it to the client.

We have at least one major upgrade per year where all our clients are updated to the same version of the system.

The client requesting the modification normally pays for the cost thereof based on a fixed cost quote. Such quotes are based on our prevailing hourly rates. Upgrades will be made available for download from our website.

ii) MDA Property Analyst R 15 000

The right of use licence is valid for a period of one year from date of installation and is automatically renewable per the Extended Licence and Warranty paragraph below.



2.

Consultancy Services

 

Installation, training, on-site support and package modifications are charged for on a time, travel and accommodation basis.

The current hourly rates are:

  Director R 900
Alternate Director / Senior Consultant R 750
Consultant R 625
Junior Consultant R 525

We do not typically charge for telephonic, fax and e-mail support.

As a very broad guideline for estimating required hours for new clients during the first year of operation — is 40 to 75 hours per site plus between 5 and 10 hours for each user. If linking to a General Ledger, budget for a further 20 to 50 hours. 



3.

Extended Licence and Warranty

 

The initial cost covers:

  • A right of use licence for a period of one year from date of installation
  • A one-year warranty that the software will perform substantially in accordance with the product manuals, brochures and what we have in good faith led you to believe.

Both the right of use licence and the warranty will be automatically extended for a further period of one year on payment of an annual licence fee. The licence fee is payable on the anniversary date of initial installation of any of the MDA Property Systems and is calculated as 19% of the initial pre-discounted cost of all MDA Property Systems, with the initial cost value being escalated at the higher of 10% and the prevailing Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Payment of the warranty extension and licence fee also extends for another year our commitment to:

  • having highly skilled expertise readily available for ongoing skills transfer and critical problem solving
  • an ongoing research and development program whereby the packages are continuously enhanced with innovations from a growing user-base and upgraded to current technological levels
  • maintaining your system in an operable condition for an agreed period.

We charge at our prevailing rates for installing package upgrades and training thereon since the time taken is dependent on variables out of our control i.e. your equipment, your database size, your levels of expertise etc. (Upgrades will be made available for download from our website.)



4.

Bulk email of Tenant Statements

  The current charge for using this specialised feature is R1.00 per statement.


5.

Exclusions

  Please note that all prices quoted exclude VAT, other withholding taxes that may be imposed, travel and accommodation expenses, Database (other than MSDE) and Operating System Software.

Due to our input costs being influenced by foreign currency fluctuations, these costs are all subject to confirmation before contractual commitment.
